RIVERVIEW, Fla. (AP) — A 14-year-old boy allegedly shot his mother to death and critically injured her boyfriend in a heartbreaking incident that unfolded in Riverview, Florida. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple reports of a shooting on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in the Lynmoor Drive area. As deputies arrived at the scene, they encountered the armed suspect, who repeatedly threatened to harm himself. Through skilled negotiation, law enforcement officers were able to convince the suspect to lower his weapon. However, he later attempted to retrieve it, leading to his apprehension with the use of a less lethal round.
During the active situation with the armed suspect, deputies discovered a male victim who had been shot multiple times.
