Woman Accused of Murdering Her Lover Over STD Accusations

HOUSTON, Texas – A 24-year-old Houston woman has been charged with the murder of her 18-year-old girlfriend, whose body was discovered near Buffalo Bayou on January 5th. Shania Laneice Turner was arrested on Thursday in connection with the death of Tierra Horn. According to court records, the two women were in a “dating relationship.”

Authorities allege that Turner strangled Horn to death during an argument that arose from Turner’s belief that Horn had given her a sexually transmitted disease. Surveillance video evidence reportedly linked Turner to the crime. After killing Horn, authorities say Turner left her body on a hiking trail.

Horn had been reported missing on January 4th, only to be found dead the next day near Buffalo Bayou, close to an apartment complex along Nance Street. The medical examiner’s office determined that the cause of death was compression to the neck.

Turner has been booked into the Harris County Jail and appeared in court on Friday, where her bond was set at $100,000. She is scheduled to appear in court again on January 16th.

Additional details surrounding the case have not been released at this time.
