Woman Allegedly Stabbed Grandfather in Face over Hygiene Dispute

A young woman in Louisiana, aged 22, was apprehended earlier this week following allegations of her stabbing her grandfather in the face. The incident reportedly occurred after a dispute over the woman’s personal hygiene habits. The woman, identified as Carrington Elise Harris, was arrested on Monday and faces charges of domestic abuse battery and domestic abuse battery with a dangerous weapon.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office issued a press release detailing the incident. Deputies were called to a residence in Keithville, located approximately 230 miles northwest of Baton Rouge, in response to a reported domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, they discovered Harris’ grandparents inside the home.

The grandparents informed investigators that the argument with Harris ensued after they requested her to take a shower. Harris reportedly became enraged, causing damage to property within the house before allegedly cutting the power to the residence. The grandparents attempted to restrain Harris, but she managed to escape.

According to detectives, Harris then proceeded to the kitchen, armed herself with a knife, and allegedly stabbed her grandfather in the face. Following the alleged attack, Harris reportedly fled into the woods behind her grandparents’ home. Deputies located her several hours later and took her into custody.

Harris was subsequently booked into the Caddo County Correctional Center. As of Wednesday afternoon, she was being held without bond. The identity of Harris’ grandfather was not disclosed. He was transported to the Willis-Knighton South and the Center for Women’s Health in Shreveport, Louisiana, for medical treatment. The sheriff’s office did not provide any information about his condition.

Jail records indicate that this is not Harris’ first encounter with law enforcement. She was arrested in May of this year on a charge of domestic abuse battery. The details of that case, including the status and the identities of any other individuals involved, were not immediately available. The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office has not yet responded to requests for additional information.
