Woman Charged After Allegedly Attempting to Dispose of Fetus in Restaurant Toilet

A Texas woman, who was in the advanced stages of pregnancy, is facing charges after allegedly attempting to dispose of her fetus in a fast-food restaurant toilet, as per police reports. Mallori Patrice Strait, 33, entered a Whataburger in San Antonio around midday last Thursday, where she remained in the lobby until approximately 2 p.m. before proceeding to the restroom.

Strait reportedly spent two hours in the restroom, during which she was heard making distressing sounds from within a stall. The restaurant’s management, concerned for her wellbeing, checked on her multiple times and offered her water. Eventually, they asked her to leave the premises and contacted the police.

Upon their arrival, deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office began questioning Strait. However, she was uncooperative, according to the police. Inside the restroom, the officers found a female fetus in the toilet.

Both Strait and the fetus were immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, the newborn was declared dead upon arrival. Medical professionals estimated that Strait was between 28 to 30 weeks pregnant, placing her in her third trimester.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner is currently investigating to ascertain the exact cause of the infant’s death. Strait was subsequently arrested and has been charged with abuse of a corpse.
