Woman Drenched in Blood Found at Store

A woman from Georgia is facing murder charges after she was discovered, reportedly drenched in blood, at a local Dollar General store. The woman is believed to have fatally stabbed a man in a nearby residence before making her way to the store.

The woman, identified as 33-year-old Requiya Reynolds, is alleged to have killed 59-year-old Michael Cronan in a home located less than a mile from the Dollar General store on Beaverdale Road in Dalton. Reynolds was found at the store on Wednesday night, according to local law enforcement.

Detective Brandon Fincher from the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office recounted the chilling scene, noting that Reynolds was simply standing there when authorities arrived. The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation launched an investigation into the incident following a 911 call that came in around 11 p.m. The call reported Reynolds’ presence at the discount store following the alleged stabbing.

According to officials, Reynolds confessed to first responders at the scene that she had attacked Cronan in a house on Dawnville Beaverdale Road. She reportedly left him on the living room floor with multiple stab wounds.

The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a statement that they received a 911 call about a blood-covered woman at the Dollar General. Deputies responded to the call and discovered Cronan’s body at the residence on Dawnville Beaverdale Road.

Reynolds was subsequently arrested and taken to the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office, where she was charged with murder. She is currently being held without bond. The motive behind the alleged attack on Cronan has not been disclosed.

Cronan’s sister, Angie Cronan-Paige, took to Facebook to request prayers for her family following her brother’s tragic death. An obituary for Cronan painted a picture of a man who loved spending time with his family and friends, including his son and daughter-in-law. The obituary described Cronan as a person who “never met a stranger” and will be remembered for his “loyal heart and steadfast devotion to the people in his life.”
