Woman Murders Dad Watching ‘Toy Story’ With 12-Year-Old

A 65-year-old woman from Connecticut, Michelle Yeagher, is currently in custody after allegedly shooting a man who was watching a Pixar movie with a child. Yeagher is facing charges of murder, carrying a firearm while under the influence, risk of injury to a child, and first-degree reckless endangerment, as reported by the Connecticut State Police.

The incident took place late Monday night in a residence on Pratt Road in the Dayville neighborhood of Killingly, a small town approximately 50 miles east of Hartford. The victim, 39-year-old Andrew Michael Olson, was watching “Toy Story” with a 12-year-old child, whose identity has not been disclosed.

According to the authorities, troopers arrived at the scene at 9:31 p.m. and found Olson suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The child present at the scene reported that Yeagher had entered the room where they were watching the movie and opened fire.

Olson was immediately transported to Day Kimball Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, Yeagher was found in bed by the troopers who questioned her about the location of the firearm used in the shooting. The defendant, who appeared to be heavily intoxicated, claimed she was unsure of the gun’s whereabouts.

During her initial interview after being taken into custody, Yeagher attempted to justify her actions, claiming that Olson had tried to kill her. She further stated that she was in her bedroom when Olson allegedly attacked her, leading her to unlock her gun safe and fire her weapon.

However, Yeagher’s account did not match the child’s testimony. Her story reportedly changed during the course of the investigation. She was eventually removed from the residence on a stretcher and handcuffed around 11:30 p.m.

In a subsequent interview the following morning, Yeagher claimed she had been dealing with various issues throughout the day and had started drinking that night. She stated that she woke up terrified, retrieved her gun, and did not remember anything until she heard Olson in distress. She then claimed to have found an injured person on the ground.

Yeagher is currently being held in the Connecticut State Department of Correction on a $1 million bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 11.
