A Florida woman was recently apprehended after allegedly assaulting a man with a can of Pringles, potentially causing him permanent disfigurement, according to local law enforcement. The woman, identified as 28-year-old Shanika Serdahl, is facing a charge of aggravated battery, as reported by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place at a 7-Eleven store on International Drive in Orlando. A deputy was dispatched to the scene following a call about a physical altercation at the convenience store. The victim, a male, informed the deputy that he had been approached by another man who commented on his vehicle. Inside the store, the victim asked Serdahl if she was acquainted with the man who had commented on his vehicle.
The situation escalated when Serdahl allegedly struck the victim in the eye with a Pringles chip can and fled the scene. The victim sustained a significant cut on his right eyebrow and below his eye, which caused bleeding and appeared likely to result in a scar and permanent disfigurement.
Law enforcement later located Serdahl south of the 7-Eleven store. After the victim identified her as the alleged assailant, she was detained and returned to the crime scene. When questioned about the incident, Serdahl claimed that the victim had been disrespectful and rude to her, prompting her to hit him.
The victim, however, denied being rude. He recounted that he had asked Serdahl if she knew the man outside the store who had made a comment about his vehicle. He stated that Serdahl then turned around and hit him in the eye with the Pringles can, causing a cut above his eye.
A 7-Eleven employee corroborated the victim’s account of the incident. The employee stated that the victim was informing him about another customer who was lying on the side of the building when Serdahl struck him with the Pringles can.
The deputy found Serdahl in possession of a can of Pringles. When asked if she had paid for the can, she reportedly said she was unsure. Due to the lack of immediate access to surveillance footage, Serdahl was not charged with theft due to insufficient evidence at the time of her arrest. She was, however, arrested on the same day for the alleged assault.
As of the time of reporting, Serdahl is not listed as an inmate in the Orange County Jail.
