Woman Throws ‘Ugly Baby’ Into Walmart Shopping Cart

An Indiana woman is facing legal repercussions for two separate altercations involving women who had romantic relationships with her former partners. Shamesha Hendrix, 36, from Muncie, is currently dealing with two criminal cases related to these incidents, according to court documents.

Hendrix was arrested on February 15 on a preliminary felony charge of battery of a person under the age of 14. This charge is connected to an incident that occurred on January 17 at a Walmart store. Another alleged assault took place at a Family Dollar store in October 2024, as reported by the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office.

The arrest affidavits for both incidents detail how Hendrix encountered the women in public places and proceeded to assault them. In one instance, she even threatened to “pop” one of the women before attacking her, according to Muncie Police.

In the incident that occurred last month, authorities stated that both Hendrix and the victim have children with the same man. The two women encountered each other at Walmart, where Hendrix allegedly insulted the victim and her child, and threw the child’s car seat into a shopping cart.

The altercation reportedly took place in the Walmart parking lot. Hendrix allegedly approached the victim, who was pushing a shopping cart with her child in a baby seat. Hendrix is accused of grabbing the shopping cart, insulting the child, and throwing the baby seat back into the cart.

The victim’s daughter was reportedly belted into the seat and did not fall out during the incident. Paramedics were called to the scene and the child appeared to be unharmed. The mother declined to take the child to the hospital, but a report was made. Hendrix allegedly fled the scene before police arrived and was arrested on February 15.

Hendrix’s other arrest in October led to a misdemeanor charge of battery resulting in bodily injury. She is accused of attacking another woman in a Family Dollar parking lot. The victim was allegedly found by police pulling loose hair from her head after the assault.

The victim told police that she and Hendrix had both dated the same man and had exchanged messages on Facebook. The altercation reportedly began in the store and continued in the parking lot, with Hendrix’s daughter also allegedly participating in the assault.

Prosecutor Eric Hoffman confirmed that Hendrix has been formally charged for the Family Dollar incident and her case is still pending.
