3 Roommates Found Dead in Gruesome Murder Scene

Spotsylvania County, Virginia – After a long manhunt authorities in Virginia have arrested a 23-year-old woman accused of murdering her three roommates. Alyssa Jane Venable has been charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office. The gruesome crime took place in a house on White Street Court, located in a rural area of Fredericksburg, approximately 48 miles south of Washington, D.C.

The police were alerted to the incident when they conducted a welfare check at the house on Monday night around 10 p.m. Upon entering the residence, deputies discovered the bodies of three adults who had suffered upper body trauma. The sheriff’s office later revealed that a roommate was responsible for the heinous crime, but details surrounding the case have been withheld to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

The victims all from Spotsylvania were Robert John McGuire, 77, Gregory Scott Powell, 60 and Carol Anne Reese, 65.

Court records indicate that Venable has a significant criminal history dating back to March 2019, including charges of shoplifting, property damage, petit larceny, reckless driving, and assault and battery. Authorities will continue the investigation.
