Indianapolis, Indiana – A 3-year-old boy named Noah Brown is fighting for his life after allegedly being beaten by his 12-year-old babysitter with “anger issues.” The incident, which occurred on November 29th, left Noah with severe head injuries and multiple seizures. The babysitter, whose name has not been released, has been charged with aggravated assault, two counts of serious bodily injury to a person under the age of 14, and possession of personal weapons.
According to Noah’s family, the babysitter, who is the stepson of Noah’s ex-husband, was responsible for caring for Noah and his 5-year-old brother. Noah’s grandmother, Candy King, revealed that the 12-year-old babysitter had anger issues and became violent when Noah started crying. The babysitter allegedly beat Noah with a belt and threw him towards the bed, causing his head to hit the bunk bed frame. The violence continued as the babysitter rammed Noah’s head into a wall, causing him to collapse under the bed.
Noah’s mother, Michelle Lane, started an online petition calling for an age requirement of 16 years old for babysitters of children under the age of 6 in Indiana. She also emphasized the need for babysitters to have no uncontrolled mental health illnesses.
Adding to the tragedy, Noah is also battling COVID-19. Doctors at Riley Children’s Hospital have been working to remove his breathing tube and neck brace, hoping that he will be able to breathe on his own. The sedation medicine has been stopped to allow him to wake up fully.
Noah’s family is praying for his recovery, but the outcome remains uncertain. The young boy’s condition serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety of children in the hands of their caregivers.
