Burger King Employee Shoots Customer After Drive-Thru Argument

On Thursday night, police in Gulfport Mississippi arrested Burger King employee Eddie Louis Smith following a shooting in the drive-thru lane.

Smith, 33 years of age, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon after a felony conviction.

The incident began when officers were alerted to an altercation near the Burger King location.

According to police, as they approached the scene, they heard two gunshots. Upon further investigation, they discovered that Smith and the customer had an argument through the speaker in the drive-thru.

Smith, an employee, left the building through the back door, and the customer exited his vehicle.

This escalated the argument and led to a physical altercation, during which Smith produced a firearm and shot the victim and his own hand.

Both Smith and the victim were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The victim was listed in stable condition.

Smith was processed and held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center in lieu of a $300,000 bond set by Judge Nick Patano.
