Democratic Governor Makes Payout After Alleged Sexual Assault

(TheDailyHorn.com) – When an influential male politician commits sexual assault against a female staffer, it should put a swift end to his career in politics. However, what if it’s an influential female politician who sexually assaults a male staff member?

In 2018, then-Democratic Congresswoman and now New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham allegedly poured a bottle of water over a male employee’s crotch, grabbed his genitals, and laughed while doing so. Other staffers were reportedly present.

These allegations first became public knowledge when James Hallinan aired them on Twitter around a year after leaving Grishamโ€™s campaign team.

According to documents filed with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC), Grisham’s campaign has paid Hallinan a total of $62,500, in monthly installments of $12,500, from November 2020 to March 2021. The five payments were listed as โ€œlegal expenses.โ€ Neither the campaign nor Hallinan’s attorney will say if more payments are coming. The campaign maintains Grisham’s innocence.
