(TheDailyHorn.com) – If the hypocrisy weren’t so serious, it would be funny. Perhaps a comedic standup routine would make policymakers and voters realize how out-of-touch they really are with reality. On Saturday, January 15, Washington, DC, instituted a highly restrictive COVID-19 mandate. If you’re 18 years of age or older and want to head out to a restaurant to eat, go to a movie, workout at the gym, or participate in other indoor entertainment venues – you’ll need to bring a photo ID and show proof of vaccination.

The irony is not lost on many people. On the one hand, if you want to pay for a meal, you must show a photo ID. On the other hand, it’s not okay to show proof of identification to vote because it disenfranchises minority voters.
Conservatives had a good time making the point. Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren said she thought asking to see identification was Jim Crow, racist, and oppressive. Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) tweeted you have to show ID to purchase a cheeseburger, but it’s racist to require voter identification.
According to DC law, voters are not required to show identification to cast a ballot. It’s just one more example of the hypocrisy coming from Democrats. The city council is even debating requiring the new mandate for those under 12 years of age in the near future.
