Heroic 10-year-old boy survives murder-suicide attempt

Sheffield, Alabama – A 10-year-old boy has survived a tragic murder-suicide attempt while trying to save his mother. Authorities in Sheffield, Alabama, discovered the bodies of the shooter, 40-year-old Adam Christopher Narmore, and the victim, 38-year-old Ashley Lynn McClung, in an apartment after McClung’s son managed to seek help from a neighboring unit, according to local news outlet WAFF. The tragic shooting occurred on Sunday at around 9 pm.

The brave young boy sustained severe injuries to his face and arm after being shot by Narmore. He has since undergone surgery. A crowdfunding campaign has been launched on GoFundMe to support the child and assist with the costs of the funeral and burial for his mother, as well as his medical expenses. The organizers of the campaign described McClung as a loving mother and a genuine friend.

According to authorities, McClung and Narmore were in a relationship, which court records indicate had been tumultuous. Narmore had been scheduled to stand trial for these charges in December and had pleaded not guilty.

Officers report that McClung and Narmore were engaged in an argument when Narmore fatally shot her with a .410 shotgun. Despite being shot in the face and arm, McClung’s brave son managed to walk across the hall to seek assistance from a neighbor. Tragically, Narmore subsequently took his own life.

The young boy, who attends New Bethel Elementary School, is currently receiving medical treatment, with his condition remaining undisclosed. Principal Nathan Fuller commended the boy’s bravery and character, describing him as an outstanding individual.
