(TheDailyHorn.com) – Perhaps the one thing that irritates Americans the most is leaders who are unwilling to follow the mandates they impose. In 2020, California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom was spotted in a restaurant not wearing a mask as required by state rules. He was only one of many. On January 20, President Joe Biden’s first day in office, the new Commander in Chief signed an “Executive Order on Protecting the Federal Workforce and Requiring Mask-Wearing.” The rule required federal employees and the public to wear face coverings on federal property.

While Biden often stresses the importance of wearing masks and occasionally wears them when no one is even around, it may be for public perception instead of protection from COVID-19. The president spent Thanksgiving weekend on Nantucket island. On Saturday, Biden visited Murray’s Toggery Shop. Shoppers spotted him not properly wearing a mask, with his facial covering over everything but his mouth and nose. Witnesses saw the mask draped below Biden’s chin as he walked around the store among other masked patrons.
So, why is this a problem? Aside from Biden’s rules around face coverings on federal property and his desire for public perception, masks are required on Nantucket. The store posted a sign directing patrons to wear masks on its premises in accordance with a directive issued by the local board of health.
