(TheDailyHorn.com) – For decades, Larry King was a talk show icon on cable news. On Saturday, January 23, he passed away at the age of 87. Some suspected it was due to complications from COVID-19. Just weeks prior, the famed talk show host was hospitalized after contracting the illness. At his age, the virus could be deadly. However, in a new interview, his estranged wife shared that COVID-19 was not what took King’s life.

Shawn King revealed that the revered talk show host died from sepsis. The couple was estranged and were going through a divorce at the time of King’s passing. They were married for 22 years. Mrs. King said his last words were, “I love you, take care of the boys.”
Shawn King didn’t indicate the cause for the sepsis, but the deadly disease is most commonly caused by a bacterial infection. Sepsis occurs when the immune system stops fighting the foreign invader in the body and turns on itself. As toxins build, organs start to shut down as blood pressure drops. Ultimately, the victim succumbs to the process. Mrs. King said after he beat COVID-19, his body couldn’t take any more.
