Lifelong Dallas Cowboys Fan and Wife Brutally Attacked at Their First-Ever Game

A Dallas Cowboys fan and his wife experienced a horrific ordeal during their first-ever game at AT&T Stadium. Wenceslao Gonzalez, a lifelong Cowboys fan, was gifted tickets to the game against the Baltimore Ravens on September 22 by his wife Lindsey and daughter. The family’s joy turned into a nightmare when they were assaulted while trying to mediate a dispute.

After the game, the family noticed a man verbally abusing a young woman. The woman’s distress reminded Lindsey of her own daughter, prompting the family to intervene. Wenceslao was the first to step in, leading to a heated exchange with the man, later identified as 32-year-old Rafael Antonio Ramirez.

The situation escalated when Ramirez punched Wenceslao in the face. When Lindsey attempted to separate the two men, Ramirez allegedly knocked her unconscious with a single punch and kicked her in the face as she lay motionless. The Arlington Police confirmed these details.

Lindsey sustained severe injuries, including 12 fractures around her left eye, cheek, and nose, and a broken jaw. She underwent surgery on September 24. Wenceslao also suffered injuries, including a fractured foot, as reported by their daughter Emma on a GoFundMe page set up to help with medical expenses.

The assault has had significant repercussions for the family. Both Wenceslao and Lindsey have been unable to work since the incident. Ramirez was arrested and charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm. He was released from Tarrant County Jail on bail on September 23. The nature of his relationship with the woman he was arguing with remains unclear.

Lindsey expressed her desire for justice, stating that while she doesn’t wish harm upon anyone, she wants Ramirez to face the consequences of his actions. The family’s life has been irrevocably changed by the incident, and they no longer feel safe attending games at the stadium.

The family also raised concerns about the lack of security presence at the stadium, questioning why it took so long for law enforcement to respond to the altercation. This incident follows a series of violent altercations at the stadium, including a bloody brawl between Jets and Cowboys fans last year.
