Man Murders Wife, Chases Down Paramedics in Car

In a shocking series of events in St. Petersburg, Florida, a 28-year-old man named Devin Hansen is facing charges of first-degree murder, domestic battery, aggravated fleeing and eluding, and obstructing justice. According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Hansen shot his wife at his parent’s house, assaulted his mother, and then pursued the ambulance transporting his wife to the hospital in his Cadillac before crashing his car.

The incident took place on April 17 at around 10:25 p.m. Police responded to reports of gunshots in the area and discovered that an argument had escalated between Hansen and his wife, Yasmin Grijalva, at the residence owned by Hansen’s parents. Hansen had a room at the house where Grijalva was located. When asked to leave, he armed himself with a handgun and returned, breaking down the bedroom door and assaulting both his mother and wife.

During the altercation, Hansen allegedly threatened to kill Grijalva and fired multiple shots, fatally wounding her. Hansen’s mother, Karen Hansen, was also struck several times as she attempted to intervene.

As his wife was being rushed to the hospital, Hansen reportedly gave chase in his black Cadillac. Although there was a brief police pursuit, Hansen managed to flee temporarily. However, he soon crashed his vehicle into a group of rocks. He was subsequently taken into custody and is currently being held on a $25,000 bond.

The motive behind the incident remains unclear, and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has not provided any further details.
