Missing Elderly Woman Found ‘Encased in Concrete’

Marcia Norman, an 82-year-old woman from Tenino, Washington, vanished under puzzling circumstances and was later found in a different town, concealed under a shed. Norman was last seen by her family members on April 1, and her disappearance was reported a few days later, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office. The last known contact Norman had was with her handyman, Jeffrey Zizz, 47, with whom she had dinner on the day she vanished.

Norman lived in Tenino, a city about 75 miles southwest of Seattle. When law enforcement arrived at her residence, the state of the home suggested a hasty departure. Zizz, on the other hand, had reportedly left Washington in a friend’s pickup truck. He was apprehended on April 6 for a previous sentencing violation.

Intriguingly, before Zizz left, his neighbors reported that he had built a shed on a property in Olympia. This construction was observed the day after Norman’s disappearance was reported. On April 9, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office announced that detectives had dug up the area beneath the shed, where they found human remains partially encased in concrete. The remains were identified as Marcia Norman the following day.

Following his arrest in Montana, Zizz was extradited back to Washington to face court proceedings for a child molestation sentencing violation warrant. He is currently being held without bond at the Thurston County Jail on these charges. Zizz has been named as a person of interest in the investigation into Norman’s disappearance and death.

However, Zizz has not been formally charged in connection with Norman’s disappearance or death. Lieutenant Mike Brooks of the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office stated that Zizz was a familiar figure to Norman’s family. He noted, “He’s not the average handyman to this family. He’s a good family friend, so it doesn’t necessarily seem like having dinner together would be uncommon.”
