Multiple Dead After Small Plane Crashes into Trailer Park

Clearwater, Florida – A small plane crashed into a trailer park on Thursday night, resulting in several fatalities and causing multiple fires. The tragic incident occurred in the Bayside Estates mobile home park just south of the Clearwater Mall at approximately 7:08 p.m., as reported by local fire officials.

According to the Clearwater Fire and Rescue Department, the pilot of the single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza V35 reported engine failure before the crash. The exact number of people on board the aircraft remains unclear, as stated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Clearwater Fire and Rescue Chief, Scott Ehlers, confirmed that the crash led to “several fatalities, both from the aircraft and within the mobile home.” Disturbing footage released by the fire and rescue department displays the aftermath of the crash, revealing the smoldering plane wreckage alongside charred buildings and trees. The exact number of fatalities is not known at this time.

One video shared on social media captured the terrifying scene of massive flames engulfing a home from a distance. Fortunately, the fires were swiftly extinguished, minimizing further damage, according to Fire Chief Ehlers.

The FAA, in conjunction with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
