Mysterious Disappearance: American Woman Goes Missing During Visit to the Bahamas

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas — An American woman, along with her family and retreat organizers, has been reported missing during a yoga retreat in the Bahamas, according to local police.

Taylor Casey, 41, was last seen on Wednesday, June 19, in the area of Paradise Island, as confirmed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force on Friday. The Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat Bahamas, the organizers of the certification retreat Casey was attending, were the first to report her absence.

This disappearance has raised concerns among her family as they fear she may be in danger due to her ambitious plans for the future upon completing the program in the Bahamas. “I believe Taylor is in danger because she was eager to share her yoga retreat experience with others upon her return,” expressed Colette Seymore, Casey’s mother, in a statement shared on the “Find Taylor Casey” Facebook page.

Casey, a 15-year yoga practitioner from Chicago, had traveled to the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat to deepen her practice, her family’s statement revealed. Despite efforts by friends to locate her through images and videos from the retreat group, no signs of Casey were found.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The Royal Bahamas Police Force has provided contact numbers for reporting information directly or through Crime Stoppers. The search for Taylor Casey, described as a light-skinned Black woman standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 145 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes, is ongoing.
