Las Vegas, Nevada – A widow has filed a lawsuit against her former neighbor, alleging that she fatally shot her husband in front of her and their children. Sarah Davi is seeking justice for the wrongful death of her husband, 46-year-old Pastor Nicholas Davi, who was shot dead last December outside their Las Vegas home.
The lawsuit names 36-year-old Joe Junio as responsible for the tragic incident. Junio was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, child abuse involving a deadly weapon, and endangerment. He currently remains in jail on a $300,000 bond.
Sarah Davi, who was also injured in the shooting, claims that Junio was not the lawful owner of the firearm used in the incident. The lawsuit also implicates the homeowners association, alleging that they provided Junio with information on complaints filed against Nicholas Davi, which they believed could result in violence.
According to a police report, the neighbors had a history of disputes, with the Davi family filing complaints regarding violations committed by Junio involving chickens and dogs. The situation escalated when Junio began engaging in threatening behavior towards the Davi family, including throwing rocks into their yard and making violent gestures.
On the day of the shooting, Junio parked her car next to the Davi family’s driveway, leading to a heated argument between her and Nicholas Davi. It was during this altercation that Junio allegedly opened fire, shooting the pastor first and then his wife. The couple’s 12 and 15-year-old children witnessed the incident and filmed it on their cellphones.
Sarah Davi is seeking damages for the loss of her husband, including punitive damages and compensation for emotional suffering.
