Winnetka, Illinois – A shootout ensued when a homeowner confronted three individuals attempting to steal his vehicles in Winnetka, Illinois on Monday morning. The incident unfolded around 5 a.m. in the 400 block of Sheridan Road, according to a Facebook post from the Winnetka Police Department. The father of five, who was awakened by the sound of his car starting, confronted the suspects, ultimately exchanging gunfire with one of them.

In an interview with ABC7 Chicago, the homeowner revealed that he discovered three unidentified individuals trying to steal his Range Rover and Maserati. The suspects had gained access to his car keys after breaking into his front office.
