Tragic Accident Claims Life of Professional Photographer at Airfield

A tragic accident at a Kansas airfield claimed the life of a professional photographer who inadvertently backed into an airplane propeller while taking pictures. Amanda Gallagher, 37, was photographing individuals boarding and disembarking planes at the Air Capital Drop Zone in suburban Wichita on Saturday afternoon when the incident occurred.

Gallagher, an avid skydiver, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition but succumbed to her injuries. She was the owner of AG Photography, a business through which she shared images of her travels and photographs taken at the Air Capital Drop Zone in Derby, Wichita’s largest suburb.

Gallagher’s passion for skydiving and photography was evident in her work. A fundraiser set up in her memory noted that she died doing what she loved most. By Monday morning, the fundraiser had collected over $6,000.

Gallagher’s family remembered her as a kind, adventurous, creative, and beautiful individual, both inside and out. They expressed their grief and loss in the fundraiser, painting a picture of a woman who lived her life to the fullest.

Cook Airfield, where the tragic accident occurred, extended its condolences to Gallagher’s family in a statement shared on social media. The statement expressed deep sorrow for the tragic accident that claimed the life of the young woman at their airfield.

The author of the statement also asked for respect and privacy during this difficult time, stating they were not present at the time of the incident and would not speculate on what could have or should have happened differently. They urged everyone to keep Gallagher’s family, friends, and her Air Capital Drop Zone family in their thoughts and prayers.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
