Woman Allegedly Stabs Fiance in Neck Over Wedding Venue Dispute

A Wisconsin woman is facing charges after allegedly stabbing her fiance in the neck during a heated argument over their wedding venue. The dispute reportedly began when the woman, identified as 22-year-old Kailee Brantner, and her future mother-in-law disagreed about using the couple’s home as the wedding location.

The fiance, whose identity has not been disclosed, reportedly woke up to text messages and screenshots of the conversation between Brantner and his mother. This sparked an argument that quickly escalated into violence. The victim claimed that Brantner attacked him without warning when he returned home from work.

According to the victim’s account, he initially tried to push Brantner away. However, she followed him into the kitchen where she grabbed a knife. The victim alleged that Brantner attacked him, tearing his shirt off in the process.

The victim then attempted to retrieve his belongings from the basement, with Brantner, still wielding the knife, in pursuit. She reportedly lunged at him, swinging the knife multiple times and causing him to bleed. The victim stated that he was aware he was bleeding but was unsure of the source of the injury.

Brantner allegedly struck the victim in the neck twice with the knife, causing him to fall to his knees. When detectives from the Brookfield Police Department arrived at the scene, they found the victim holding a towel to his bleeding neck and Brantner sitting alone on the couch. A bloody, pink-handled knife was recovered from the kitchen.

Brantner reportedly told police that she had provided the towel to her injured fiance. She also claimed that she had acted out of fear that her boyfriend would physically harm her. Brantner is now facing a charge of first-degree reckless injury and is scheduled to appear in court on February 13.
