Woman Charged with Stabbing Husband, Driving Car with Children into Pond

CARROLLTON, Texas – A Carrollton woman has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing her husband and then deliberately driving a vehicle with three children inside into a retention pond in Lewisville.

The incident unfolded on Friday morning when Carrollton Police responded to a call from a man who claimed his wife had stabbed him with a knife before leaving their home on Tall Knight Lane. The injured man was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

Shortly after the stabbing incident, Lewisville police received another 911 call reporting that a woman and three children, aged 12, 9, and 8, were trapped in a car that had been driven into a pond along Hebron Parkway. By the time authorities arrived, the oldest child had managed to free himself from the sinking vehicle.

The first officer on the scene promptly rescued an unconscious child and successfully performed CPR to revive them. Lewisville Fire arrived shortly after and rescued a third child from the car, who was also unconscious. Both children were resuscitated in the ambulance en route to the hospital.

The two youngest children, who had to be revived, were taken to Children’s Legacy in Plano while the mother and the oldest child were examined at Medical City in Lewisville. Two of the children are in stable condition, while the condition of the third child remains critical.

Authorities have confirmed that the woman pulled from the submerged vehicle is the wife of the man who was previously stabbed. She has been taken into custody and will face criminal charges. The investigation is ongoing, and the family is cooperating with authorities.

This shocking incident has left the community in shock, with witnesses expressing their concern and well wishes for the family involved. “I saw what I thought was an accident but it turned out, I guess, a little bit more than an accident,” said Wallace Rose, who was in the area at the time. “I’m not really religious but if I was, I’d pray for the family. I hope that they are okay.”

The motive behind the stabbing and subsequent act remains unknown, and further details of the incident have not been disclosed. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information to come forward.
