Woman Killed After Husband “Flipped Off” Driver in Road Rage Incident

Paola Nunez Linares, a 37-year-old woman from Texas, was tragically killed in an apparent road rage incident on the night of July 10. Her husband, Zane Jones, was driving their minivan when he “flipped off” another driver, who responded by firing several shots at their vehicle. Linares was struck in the head and pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly after the incident. The incident took place in Hurst, Tx, which is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro area.

The Hurst Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding the shooting and found Linares suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Hurst Fire Department medics transported her to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, where doctors pronounced her dead at approximately 2 a.m. on July 11.

Jones told investigators at the scene that he had been driving on East Loop 820 with Linares when they became “involved in a road rage incident” with another vehicle. The suspect vehicle has been described as a small, dark-colored, older model car.

In a public Facebook post, Jones begged witnesses to the shooting or anyone with information about the incident to contact law enforcement, outlining that his wife was an “innocent victim”. He stated that “she was a passenger in the car when I flipped off a driver that put us in danger.” He added that Linares “meant everything” to him and was a “wonderful” stepmom to his children.

Jones further told Fort Worth, NBC affiliate KXAS-TV that the shooter should “rot” behind bars. He said that Linares had nothing to do with the incident and was an innocent victim.

The tragic death of Paola Nunez Linares has left her husband and family grief-stricken. Zane Jones is asking anyone with information to come forward so the shooter can be brought to justice and held accountable for taking the life of an innocent victim.
