A 23-year-old woman has been taken into custody without bond on charges of both murder and obstruction of justice for allegedly stabbing her fiancé to death. At the same time, two children were inside the house asleep.
The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office had received a call at 12:06 a.m. on Wednesday, informing them of the incident taking place in a home located nearly 11 miles northeast of Jackson, Mississippi.
Upon arriving at the scene, the female suspect was said to be visibly distressed and requested the deputies to save her partner. After entering the house, they found a male victim with a stab wound to the chest.
Emergency services were quickly contacted, and the officers attempted to stop the bleeding and performed CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived. Unfortunately, the man died.
An investigation ensued, and the woman was arrested on suspicion of murder. Child Protective Services took charge of the two children in the house at the time of the incident. Further information was not provided.
