(TheDailyHorn.com) – The media revered democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2020 as the poster boy for to handle the COVID-19 pandemic. In spring 2020, New York was the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, last summer, questions arose about the governor’s handling of a nursing home crisis. Last week, an aide to Cuomo told Democratic lawmakers that the administration purposely withheld information on the number of nursing home deaths to protect itself from criticism. Now, Cuomo could be facing impeachment. Former-President Donald Trump said the situation is “surprising.”

Trump said his administration did everything it could to New York save lives. However, Cuomo’s team didn’t utilize the federal response. Trump said they offered the massive Javits Center, a US Naval hospital ship, and federal dollars to help get the pandemic under control.
Regarding the political environment, the former president said it was unusual for Democrats to go after one of their own, unlike Republicans.
