A Las Vegas gas station employee is facing charges of attempted murder and battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly assaulting a customer with a baseball bat. The incident occurred in the early hours of September 3 at an ARCO gas station on Rainbow Boulevard. The employee, identified as 47-year-old Myron Bullie, reportedly accused the customer of damaging a nacho cheese machine and being verbally abusive.
According to local NBC affiliate KSNV, the victim was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, including brain bleeds and fractures to his skull and face. The current condition of the victim remains unknown as of Tuesday morning. The details of the alleged assault were gathered from the suspect’s statements to detectives and a 911 caller, as detailed in the arrest report.
The incident reportedly began when Bullie asked the customer to leave the premises, alleging that the customer had overused the nacho cheese machine, caused it to break, and had been causing other damages in the store. The customer left but returned shortly after. It was at this point that Bullie allegedly struck the customer with a baseball bat, later telling investigators that the man had angered him.
Bullie’s statements to the police, as recorded in the arrest report, were reportedly aggressive and defiant. When asked if he had hit the victim hard, Bullie allegedly responded that if he had, the victim would have been dead. Surveillance footage from the gas station reportedly shows Bullie hitting the victim multiple times with the bat.
A 911 caller, who noticed the victim bleeding outside the gas station, reportedly told police that Bullie had said he would not call 911 and hoped the victim had learned a lesson. Bullie is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center on a $10,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on September 23.
