(TheDailyHorn.com) – Across the United States, many schools are still closed or are open only one day per week. In the meantime, the White House continues to talk about educational opportunities for unaccompanied migrant children on the southern border.
It appears that White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki isn’t prepared to answer the obvious questions on this topic. On Monday, March 10, she came under fire for her response to just such a question.
Psaki was specifically asked why American children are not in school while illegal immigrants are getting a US education at the border, paid for by US taxpayer dollars. Not sure how to answer, Psaki inappropriately chuckled at the question. After a brief moment of thought, she said the two issues weren’t the same, and both needed a responsible approach.
In recent days, reporters have begun asking the administration if a crisis was emerging on the southern border. So far, representatives have refused to answer the question. As of Monday, March 8, 3,200 children were being held at the border in detention facilities.
